Police investigating arson attack at Alton newsagents appeal for witnesses

Police are investigating an arson attack at a newsagent’s shop in Alton and are appealing for witnesses. I

t happened at “Bon-Bon” in Normandy Street between 7 and 7.15pm on Monday December 12.  

Someone got in to the shop via a rear window and then set fire to a sofa. The fire then spread to the downstairs of the property and to the first floor.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious.

 A number of enquiries are being carried out as well as reassurance patrols of the area.
