Police investigating a robbery in Winchester are appealing for witnesses. It happened between 9.15 and 9.30am on Monday January 16.
A 26-year-old man was walking along an alleyway between St James Terrace and Airlie Road when he was approached by another man. He grabbed his bag, which the man tried to hold on to. But the man made off with the bag which contained £60 in cash; bank cards and a pair of Nike Air Max trainers.
The man is described as:
- In his late 20s
- Around 5ft 11 to 6ft tall
- Medium build
- Short dark hair
- Wearing a pair of black and green Nike Air Max trainers and a blue sports jacket
Detective Constable Steve Roman is investigating and said: “Robberies such as these are thankfully rare occurrences. We have carried out a number of enquiries to identify the man. I’d like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting this description in the area at the time.”
