Police in Southampton are investigating after a woman thought to be in her 30s was badly burnt in a fire at St Monica Road, Sholing, this afternoon, Tuesday, November 25.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue along with police and ambulance were called to the scene around 2.20pm.
The fire has now been put out. It’s not known what caused it and the road has been cordoned off while police and the fire service investigate.
The woman was found by firefighters in the kitchen trying to shield herself from the flames.
She ahs been taken by air ambulance to Odstock Hospital in Salisbury.
Officers are now appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact them.
