Police in are appealing for help in tracing a six day old baby and his mum after they went missing from the Princess Anne Maternity Hospital in Coxford Road, Southampton.
Christine Haines, 22, and her newborn son Charlie disappeared on Sunday just two days after he was born. Officers believed they did have strong leads to her whereabouts but these have so far not proved fruitful.
There are concerns for both her welfare and her son’s. They have not yet been officially discharged from hospital and officers and her family are now growing increasingly concerned about them both.
Christine is described as: White with blue eyes and long brown straight hair. She is slim and around 5ft four.
Christine normally lives in the Woolston district of the city and it’s believed she is still probably in the Southampton area. Officers are asking for anyone who sees Christine or her son or knows their whereabouts to please come forward. They are asked to call Shirley CID on 0845 045 45 45.
They are also appealing for Christine herself to get in touch with them on the same number so that they can check both she and her baby are well.
