Detectives in Portsmouth are investigating a serious sexual assault which took place on Saturday November 28.

An 18-year-old woman from Southsea has told police that she was walking along Goldsmiths Avenue at the junction with Priory Crescent in Milton at around 10.30pm.

A man approached her, grabbed her and sexually assaulted her. He made off in the direction of the Pompey Centre.

He is described as:

  •  White
  •  6ft 2 to 6ft 3 tall
  •  In his 40s
  •  Short hair
  •  Wearing a khaki green anorak and trousers
  •  He also smelt strongly of alcohol and tobacco

Detective Constable Andy Larder is investigating and said: “This is a busy junction and I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at that time. Did you see a man fitting this description? “We are following up a number of enquiries but please contact us if you have any information which could help this investigation.”
