Police in Portsmouth are asking for help from members of the public in finding items which have been dumped following a burglary.
At around 12.30am on Saturday, February 19, offenders entered a property in Cunningham Avenue in North End. Several items were taken and the victims were awoken as the offender or offenders left the premises.
Police were called to the scene immediately and four suspects were arrested shortly afterwards. Several items stolen from the property had been discarded in the area.
Although a thorough search was conducted by officers, some of the stolen items are still missing. These are:
- A ladies black leather purse, containing bank cards
- A wireless Xbox games console controller
- A Sat Nav
Detective Constable Pete Bambury said: “We are looking for several items that were disguarded along the foreshore from the area of Cunningham Close to the Mountbatten Centre.
“This area is very popular and also very vast, and is used regularly by dog walkers, cyclists and joggers. I am asking anyone that uses this area to keep an eye out for any of the stolen items. If they are found they should be handed in to the nearest police station.”
Anyone who has been offered these goods for sale or has any further information should contact DC Bambury on 101, or if you are outside Hampshire and the Isle of Wight use 0845 045 45 45.
