Police investigating a burglary in Portsmouth are appealing for information on the property that was stolen.  Between 6.20 pm on Saturday August 1 and half past midnight on Sunday August 2, a house in Francis Avenue, Eastney was broken in to.

The following was taken in the burglary:

• Sony VAIO NR31JF laptop in silve

• ACER 450 grey laptop with "SIMS 3" sticker on it

• Canon digital camera, 8megapixels, silver

• Sony Ericsson Walkman mobile phone - black and grey

• XBox 360

• 8 x XBox games

• Distinctive purple suitcase with a large tear in it at the zip edge (used to carry the property away)

PC Allison Fraser who is investigating said: “The offender has come into the house whilst the occupants were at their evening jobs.  On their return, they were shocked to find the house ransacked and both their laptops taken, as well as several other items.

“I’d like to  remind people not to buy cheap secondhand electrical goods being sold through "friends of friends" or at the door as these may well be stolen property, taken in circumstances such as this.

“If you are offered things you suspect to be stolen, please phone the police or Crimestoppers with the name or a description of the person offering them to you and what they were trying to sell.

“If anyone has information about this burglary and where the stolen goods have gone to, I would be very pleased to hear from them.”
