Police identify victim of serious assault in Southampton
Press Releases
Published:
26/10/2008
Detectives have now been able to identify the man found seriously assaulted in a play park in Southampton. Luke Anthony Woolf, 18, was found yesterday morning at around 6.10am.
He was discovered in the park at the junction of Radcliffe Road and Augustine Road in Northam. He is local to the area.
Yesterday, Saturday, October 25, Luke underwent surgery at Southampton General hospital to a serious head injury and he is now described as critical.
His family have been contacted and officers are liaising closely with them.
Detectives from the Major Crime Department are leading the inquiry in conjunction with the Southampton investigation team. More than 20 detectives are working on the case.
They have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the incident and they are currently being questioned by detectives.
At this time they are also seeking a 20-year-old man who they want to speak to about the assault.
Officers are continuing to appeal for any witnesses who saw what happened or how Luke came to be where he was found, to contact them.
They are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Operation Approve team at the Major Crime Department on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers, the charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
