Police confirm identity of motorcyclist killed in Basingstoke crash

Police are now in a position to confirm the identity of a man who died following a collision on the A30, Ringway South in Basingstoke, on Monday.

George Williams, 63, from South Ham Road in Basingstoke, was riding his Suzuki Bandit motorcycle when he was in collision with a Toyota Prius. He died at the scene.

In a statement, Mr Williams’ family said: "The loss of George in this sudden, tragic accident has affected our family and friends deeply.
“George was a hardworking, well respected man who provided for his family’s every need.
“Although a keen motorcyclist, George was a very careful rider, restoring and riding motorcycles all his life.
“George was a loving husband, father, brother and friend who could be relied by all in any eventuality. His untimely loss has left a huge void in all of our lives and in his passing he will be sadly missed by all.”
