Detectives are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man police would like to speak to in connection with a serious sexual assault.
On Friday, January 28, a 35-year-old woman went for a night out with a friend. At around midnight they went to Yates’ bar in Aldershot.
The woman was approached by a man whilst inside the bar. They talked and danced for a short time, before leaving the bar together.
The man is described as:
- White
- Aged in his late 20s or early 30s
- Wearing think, dark rimmed glasses
- Wearing a blue shirt
Detective Constable Helen Calton said, “We believe this woman may have been subjected to a serious sexual assault after leaving Yates’ and returning home, and it’s vitally important that we make contact with this man as soon as possible. It may be that someone saw the pair either inside or leaving the bar; the woman is white, of large build and around 5ft 3ins tall, with shoulder length brown hair, and she wears glasses. On the night of the incident she was wearing a knee-length black dress. Any piece of information could be significant to this inquiry, so if you think you can help, please get in touch.”
