Police appeal for witnesses to suspicious incident in Popley

Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious incident in Popley on Thursday, July 1.

At around 3.30pm a 13-year-old girl was walking along a footpath alongside the Tobago Close allotments.

She was approached by two men who made indecent comments to her and then walked off.

The first man is described as: 

  • White
  • Polish
  • Aged between 35 and 40
  • 5ft 10ins tall
  • Medium build
  • Short brown hair
  • Brown eyes

The second man is described as: 

  • White
  • Polish
  • Aged between 35 and 40
  • 5ft 10ins tall
  • Medium build
  • Bald
  • Large nose

PCSO Sarah Danks, of the Basingstoke Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: “This was a concerning incident for the victim and we want to trace the men responsible.

“The men did not follow the girl and she was unharmed following the incident.

“If you were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, please contact us.

“We also want to hear from anyone who recognises the men in the descriptions.”
