Police appeal for witnesses following serious road traffic collision in Basingstoke

Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Basingstoke on Sunday, January 18.
At around 3.40am a blue Ford Focus driven by a 20-year-old man from Basingstoke was travelling along Popley Way from the direction of Carpenters Down towards the Aldermaston Road roundabout.
The vehicle lost control and left the road before colliding with a tree. The driver suffered a serious head injury and is being treated at North Hampshire Hospital.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information about the incident, is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit quoting Operation Spectrum on 0845 045 45 45 or the Crimestoppers charity, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
