Police appeal for witnesses following serious motorcycle crash in Herriard, near Basingstoke

A motorcyclist has been left seriously injured after falling from his bike on the A339 between Basingstoke and Alton.

The 35-year-old, from Frimley in Surrey, was travelling towards Alton at Herriard shortly after 7pm on Wednesday, June 16, when the incident occurred.

The motorcyclist, who police believe was riding in a group of bikers, was overtaking a Peugeot Bipper Van when he fell from his Suzuki GSXR bike.

He sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital. His condition is now described as stable.

A section of the road was closed for about three hours to allow a full investigation to take place.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the van or the motorcycles before the crash.
