Detectives are appealing for information after a woman on a night out with friends was injured on Saturday, April 25.
Between 7.30pm and 9pm, the 18-year-old woman from Fareham had been with some friends around the seafront in Southsea.
She became detached from her friends and was making her way home when she was approached by two men outside of the old garrison church, in the Old Portsmouth area.
The woman does not recall what happened next, but she woke up sometime later outside of the cathedral on Lombard Street.
She had bruises on her arms and legs and a bump on her head. The woman walked to the Gosport ferry terminal before travelling home.
The woman does not know how she came to receive these injuries, and so police are appealing for any witnesses who may be able to help ascertain what has happened.
One of the men the woman met on her way home had dark hair and was wearing a stripy polo shirt.
Detective Constable Dave Anderson said, “We believe this woman may have been assaulted at some point and we are looking for any witnesses who can help us piece together her movements.
“In particular we would like to speak to the two men she saw near to the old garrison church. Did they walk with her anywhere? Did they see what may have happened? The woman is obviously shaken up and does not know how she came to be injured, and I would urge anyone who can help us to call as soon as possible.”
Can you help?
