Police are appealing for information after two men were assaulted and robbed in the Portsmouth city centre.

Sometime between 1.45am and 2.15am on Friday, February 25, two young men were walking home after a night out at the Liquid and Envy Club.

The two men, aged 18 and 19, were on the left hand side of Winston Churchill Avenue heading east towards Fawcett Road, when a group of four men approached and asked what valuables they had.

The two men were then assaulted and the offenders stole several items from them.

The main offender from the group is described as:
white,
aged between 17 and 19 years
around 5ft 8ins
of a slim to medium build
having blond or ginger short hair
wearing a grey hooded top

Detective Constable Jackie Foley from Fratton CID said: “The two victims in this incident both sustained injuries to their faces, and lost a number of valuable items including mobile phones, an iPod and wallets.

“This incident took place when people would have been starting to leave the clubs, and I would urge anyone who saw anything to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Foley at Fratton police station on 101, or 0845 045 45 45 if you live outside of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
