Police appeal for witnesses after two men assaulted in Basingstoke
Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted outside a bar in the town.
Shortly before 4am on January 21, two men aged in their early 20s, were in a car leaving The Bang Bar in Basing View after a night out. They were then attacked by a group of unknown people who smashed a window in the car.
Both men were punched and the driver was hit in the face with a bottle. He required stitches for his injuries.
One of the offenders is described as mixed race, aged in his mid 20s, about 6ft 2ins tall and of average build. He had short black hair, facial stubble and a local accent. He was wearing a grey hooded top and blue jeans.
Another offender is described as white, about 5ft 11ins tall, of an average build and had a strong Liverpool accent. He was wearing light blue jeans, a stripy white t-shirt with a black bodywarmer over the top.
PC Darrin Carey said: “This incident happened around the time that many people were leaving The Bang Bar, so there would have been lots of people around at the time.
“I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident or who saw it happen.”
