Police are appealing for information after a suspicious incident in Basingstoke on Wednesday, February 10.

At around 8.10am a 12-year-old girl was walking along Sheppard Road when she noticed a man following her. The man approached the girl and she then ran off and he did not follow her.

PC Stephen Morrison, of the Basingstoke Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a concerning incident and we want to trace the man responsible.

“In this case the victim did exactly the right thing by running off and contacting police.

“We want anyone with information or anyone who has been the victim of a similar incident to contact us as soon as possible.

“We would also ask parents to remind their children of the stranger danger message and to report any incidents to us.”

Can you help?
