Police are appealing for witnesses after several manhole covers were stolen in Whitehill and Bordon between Sunday March 21 and Monday, March 22.
Between 8pm on Sunday and 10.30am on Monday a total of nine manhole covers and gulley grates in Firgrove Road, Eveley Road, Heather Close and on the A325 in Bordon were stolen.
In total they are worth around £3,000. PC Oliver Vale, of the Alton Targeted Patrol Teams, said: “These are unusual thefts and it would have taken some time for the covers to be removed.
“We would ask anyone who saw any of them being stolen or anyone who saw anything suspicious overnight between Sunday and Monday to contact us as soon as possible.
“We would encourage local residents to call us if they witness any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood.”
