Police appeal for witnesses after man assaulted in Basingstoke

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted outside a fast-food outlet in Basingstoke.

Shortly before 4am on Sunday, December 18, a 25-year-old was punched in the face while he was outside Chick-Mex in Church Street, Basingstoke.

It is believed the offender said he had mistaken the victim for another person.

The victim sustained several fractures to his cheekbone as a result of this incident.

PC Darrin Carey said: “Were you in Church Street in the early hours of Sunday? Did you see any altercation? If so please contact me with whatever information you have.”
