PC Benjamin Aguirre, of the Yateley Targeted Patrol Team, said: “This was a serious incident and although the victim was not injured he was very shaken up.
“This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and dangerous and somebody could have been seriously hurt.
“Air weapons are not toys and should never be fired at other people.
“If you own an air weapon, please take care and make sure you have permission to use such a weapon before you use it.
“We would ask anyone with information about what happened or anyone who knows who was responsible to contact us as soon as possible.”
The North and East Operational Command Unit is currently running a firearms and ammunition amnesty, giving people the opportunity to hand in any illegal or unwanted firearms or ammunition at a police station and walk away. It runs until Sunday, April 18.
