Police appeal for witnesses after crash on M27

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a three-car collision on the M27 at Ower.

At about 11.40am on Saturday, July 10, a silver Proton, silver Vauxhall Astra and a green Peugeot 206 were in collision on the off slip road at junction two, on the eastbound carriageway.

The driver of the Peugeot – a 64-year-old man from Lyndhurst – and the driver of the Vauxhall – a 66-year-old man from Dorset – sustained minor injuries and were taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The driver of the Proton – a 95-year-old man from Christchurch in Dorset – had to be freed from his vehicle by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

He was also taken to Southampton General Hospital.All drivers have since been released from hospital.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
