Officers investigating an attempted robbery on Friday, December 30, are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
At around 8pm, a 57-year-old man was walking down Nelson Road. As he reached the junction with Stoke Park Road he was pushed from behind and fell to the ground.
A group of four men then tried to take the guitar the man was carrying, but the man refused and the group ran away.
The man sustained minor injuries to his hand and knee when he fell.
Three of the men in the group were white, and one had darker skin. All four were wearing hooded jumpers with the hoods pulled up.
PC Alex Fortune said, “This kind of incident is rare in Bishopstoke, and we’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard what happened. The man involved was simply making his way home when he was targeted for his guitar, and we want to identify the group responsible as soon as possible.”
