Police are appealing for a man to come forward after an incident in Aldershot.

Shortly after 3pm on Thursday, December 22, a 18-year-old woman was cycling along the canal path between the A325 bridge and Queens Avenue Birdge, heading away from Fleet, when she stopped to allow a runner to go past.

As he went past she felt something hit her right eye but the man carried on running.

The man is described as aged in his 30s with closely shaved dark hair, about 5ft 9/10ins tall and of a medium build.

He was wearing an electric blue-coloured waterproof running jacket, black running shorts and muddy white trainers.

The woman sustained a nasty injury to her eye which required hospital treatment but is now recovering at home.

PC Louise Stephens said: “This may well have been an accident, but we would like to speak to the runner or anyone who saw anything to clarify the situation.”
