Police appeal for information following robbery in Totton

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a robbery took place on Ringwood Road, at the junction with Bagber Road, Totton.

At around 11.30pm yesterday (Thursday, August 20), a group of four youths were walking down the road when they were approached from behind by a group of three men.

The three men demanded items from the youths, who handed over a zippo lighter, £5 cash, cigarettes, an iPod nano and a mobile phone between them.

It is believed that one of the men may have had a knife.

One of the men then punched one of the youths, causing a cut to his lip.

The three men then ran off in the direction of Asda.

The men are described as

Man 1:

  • Black
  • Short afro style black hair
  • Between 5ft 9ins and 6ft tall
  • Medium build
  • 18 or 19 years old
  • Wearing a black hooded top, a waterproof jacket, black jogging bottoms and black trainers

Man 2:

  • White
  • Between 5ft 9ins and 6ft tall
  • Wearing a grey hooded top which had a black pattern on it, and the hood pulled up to cover his face, with dark coloured bottoms

Man 3:

  • White
  • 18 or 19 years old
  • Wearing a grey hooded top

Detective Constable Chris Bradford said, “This type of offence is rare in Totton, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries in the area. We have increased patrols in the area and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information about the incident. Did you see what happened or do you know where the men may have run to?
