Police in Portsmouth are appealing for information from the public after a woman in a wheelchair was robbed of her handbag.
The 20-year-old was outside the University’s Harry Law Halls of residence just after 11pm on Saturday March 14.
A man asked her for the time and then pulled her handbag from her shoulder.
The man is described as:
• Black
• 5ft 6
• Medium build
• Short curly hair
• Wearing dark clothing
The woman’s handbag is olive green with a long strap and contained bank cards; a silver Sony Ericsson mobile phone; cash and a brown leather purse.
PC Lucy Allan who is investigating said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this despicable robbery. The area would have been busy at the time and I’d like to hear from anyone who saw a man fitting this description.“
CCTV footage of the area will be looked at as part of the investigation.
