Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a property in Edrich Square, Cricketers Way, sometime between 11.30pm on Wednesday, October 5 and 3am on Thursday, October 6.
Access was gained to the premises through an unlocked door.
A small amount of cash was stolen from the owner’s wallet.
Nothing else has been reported stolen.
Detective Constable Sian Newland said, “We are urging residents to lock the doors to their homes even when they are in. A series of house burglaries are emerging where homes are being entered either through doors that are shut but not locked or by using an implement through catflaps and letterboxes to hook keys hanging nearby, and it is important people ensure they have considered all reasonable security measures. We are carrying out increased patrols and are dedicated to identifying the offenders, so please remain vigilant and ensure you report any suspicious people or vehicles in your area.”
