Detectives investigating a burglary at a property in Bedford Avenue, Southampton, on Tuesday, December 20, are appealing for information from the public.

Sometime between 9am and 4pm yesterday, offender(s) forced entry to the home of a woman in her 80s.

Amongst the items stolen are a number of Christmas presents, which were wrapped and left under the Christmas tree, and contained toiletry products.

Also stolen were the following items:

  • a Toshiba DVD player,
  • a gold fob watch,
  • a pocket watch, on a silver chain and made by Royal London,
  • a gold wedding ring,
  • an 18 carat gold engagement ring containing five white stones,
  • a nine carat gold eternity ring, with white stones around the whole ring

Detective Constable Steve Thomas said, “This is a despicable crime where only five days before Christmas a woman’s house has been broken into and some very sentimental items stolen, along with gifts intended for her friends and family. We’d like to hear from anyone who may be able to identify those responsible or where the stolen items may be now.”
