Police appeal following assault at Gunwharf Quays

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at the taxi rank at Gunwharf Quays sometime between 12.40 and 1am on Sunday, December 18.  

A 25-year-old man was waiting for a taxi when he became involved in an altercation with four men. One of the men punched him in the face before getting into a taxi.  

The man attended Queen Alexandra hospital. He sustained a fracture to his cheek and a broken bone under his eye.  

Det Con Verity Lamb said: “At this time of night, especially at this time of year, Gunwharf Quays and the taxi rank would have been very busy.  

“Were you there at the time this incident took place? Could you help identify those responsible?”
