Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a wheelie bin fire in Florence Court, Roman Way, Andover in the early hours of Wednesday, August 12.
The fire started at some time between 1.45am and 2.05am.
The wheelie bin was set alight, and then the fire spread to an external wooden gate and guttering of a bungalow, which was occupied by a young family.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information about it.
PC Stephen Jakes said: “We want to speak to a man aged around 40 with grey hair and a moustache who was seen in the area at the time of the fire, as he may have vital information.
“This sort of crime is very dangerous and as the fire was set alight in a built up residential area the consequences could have been a lot more serious.”
