Police are appealing for information following a burglary at an address in Old Mill Road, Millbrook at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday, June 28.
The homeowner, a woman in her 70s, left the address, which is off Stoke Road and Warren Crescent, around 15 minutes before the incident. As she left her property she noticed an orange coloured BMX bike outside her neighbour’s address.
When the woman returned to her address a short time later she saw the same bike outside her house. The woman went through the back gate which had been left ajar to find two youths running out of the rear patio doors.
The youths swore at her and ran off. Approximately £50 cash was stolen from the address.
The youths were both white; one was wearing a black hooded top and the other a grey hooded top. The bike was a distinctive orange coloured BMX with a black line pattern around the frame.
The youths left the scene on the bike and on foot into a green area behind The Old Thatch pub, which leads towards Romsey Road and the junction with Tebourba Way and Winchester Road.
