Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted on Oak Road, Woolston, at around 9.50pm on Tuesday, October, 4.

A 21-year-old woman was walking home along Oak Road after getting off a bus at the Itchen Toll Bridge when she was followed by a man. He pushed her against a wall causing a graze on the woman’s forehead, and grabbed the crotch area of her trousers. She then pushed him away and ran off.

The man is described as:

  • White
  • Wearing dark blue jeans and dark coloured work men boots
  • Had a dark hoodie pulled up over his face

Detective Constable Simon Driver said, “This incident left the woman concerned very shaken up. We need to speak to any witnesses who were in the area at the time this happened – do you think you saw this man or did you see what happened? We’d also like people to remain vigilant and report anyone acting suspiciously to police.”

Can you help?
