Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a robbery where a man’s wallet was stolen as he walked with a friend down Kingston Crescent, at the junction with Lake Road, Portsmouth.

At 12.30am on Friday, February 6, an 18-year-old man from Fratton was making his way home with a friend, when they were approached from behind by two men.

The man was grabbed around the shoulders from behind and his wallet was taken from his pocket, before the two men ran away.

The wallet was leather and contained £35 in cash and some cards. The man was not injured during the incident.

The men are both described as ‘large’, and of medium build, aged in their early 20s and 6ft tall. One of the men was wearing a black hooded top.

Detective Constable Dave Higgins said, “The robbery happened very quickly and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time who either saw what happened, or may have seen the offenders either before or after the incident.”
