Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed by a group of two men and a woman who took him to a cash machine to get money, in the early hours of Friday, March 20.
Between 3.45am and 4am, a 20-year-old man from Southsea was walking down Auckland Road East, making his way home from a night out at the Liquid and Envy club.
He passed the group of two men and a woman, and one of the men called out to him. The group then came over and stood around the man, backing him against a wall.
The man who had called out then asked for the lone man’s wallet and threatened him with violence. The man handed over his wallet.
The man was then asked if he had any money in his bank and, fearing for his safety, he offered to hand over his bank cards.
The group then walked the man to a nearby cash machine on Palmerston Road and made him withdraw the cash in his account, which was £10.
The group took the money and kept the wallet, and left the student to walk home, following him briefly and then leaving him.
