Detectives are appealing for information after a man was stabbed, during a fight which took place in Fratton Road, at the junction with Lucknow Street.

At 1.15pm on Friday, September 9, a 24-year-old man from Fratton became involved in a fight with two other men. The man was stabbed twice in his buttocks, and the two men ran away.

A witness saw the two men discard the knife, which has now been recovered by police.

The injured man was taken to the Queen Alexandra hospital for treatment and will require surgery for his injuries.

Detective Constable Dave Higgins said, “This was a very serious incident and I would ask that anyone who witnessed the incident, or the two men leaving the scene, contacts police immediately.”

Two men, a 20-year-old and a 37-year-old, both from Southsea, have been arrested in connection with this incident, and released on police bail, to return on November 17.
