Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed on Wednesday, May 6.
At 5pm the 19-year-old man was walking along the footbridge at Fratton train station, heading towards Goldsmith Avenue.
He was approached by two men, one of whom produced a knife and demanded the man hand over his mobile phone.
The man refused, and the man holding the knife then reached out and cut the lone man’s arm, before both offenders ran off.
The man was treated by paramedics for a minor cut to his arm, but was otherwise unharmed.
The men are described as:
- White
- Aged 19-20 years old
- Around 6ft tall
- Both wearing hooded jumpers, one with a black coat over the top and dark blue jeans, and the other with Adidas tracksuit bottoms
Detective Constable Katie Holland said, “This incident took place at a busy time when there would have been a number of commuters using the train station. If anyone saw or heard anything I would urge them to contact me.”
