Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died following an altercation in Eastney Road, Portsmouth.
Officers were called to the address shortly after midnight this morning (Saturday, October 31) where a 58-year-old man was found injured. The man later died at Queen Alexandra hospital.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances which led to the man’s death, and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Eastney Road, near the junction with Methuen Road, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious last night.
The coroner has been informed of the death and a post mortem will take place in due course.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the incident and is in police custody.

Police have released on bail the man arrested in connection with the murder investigation ongoing in Portsmouth.
