Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a branch of Comet on Wednesday, February 25.

The incident occurred between midnight and 1.43am at the store in Ocean Retail Park. Two men broke through the exterior brick wall of the building to enter a warehouse area, and then through a pair of doors to the shop floor.

Once inside, the two offenders began taking a number of small electrical items and putting them into a rucksack. The items included iPods, Tom Tom satnavs, and games for Xbox and Playstation 3 consoles.

The goods taken are worth over £3000 in total.

The two men then ran away, going through the Copnor allotments.

The men are described as:

Man 1:

  • White
  • Wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jacket, a scarf covering his face, blue jeans, white trainers and a pair of dark gloves

Man 2:

  •  Wearing a light coloured baseball cap or beanie hat, a blue and white striped scarf, white jacket, black jeans, white trainers and dark gloves
  • Carrying a black rucksack

Detective Constable Katie Wakefield said, “This appears to have been a planned operation, and the goods taken were items which can be carried and easily disposed of. I would like  to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything, or from anyone who knows of people trying to sell Apple I-Pods, Tom Toms, X-Box or PS3 games at reduced prices locally.”
