Police are appealing for information after a teenaged boy was hit by a passing car as he tried to cross Drayton Road in Portsmouth.

At around 8.30pm on Friday, September 26, a 14-year-old boy from Fratton was playing with a friend on Drayton Road when he crossed the road.

As he did so he was struck by a passing car, which did not stop.

The make and model of the car are unknown, though it is thought to be dark in colour.

The boy suffered bruising to his right leg and shoulder as a result of the incident, and did not require hospital treatment, but was left very shaken.

PC Tony Langton said, “We want to trace the driver of this car as soon as possible and so I would ask anyone who saw anything to contact police. It is lucky the boy escaped without any serious injury, and I would advise all drivers and pedestrians to remain aware of your surroundings at all times to avoid similar situations in the future.”

Can you help?
