Police appeal after boy bitten by dog in Portsmouth

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young boy was attacked by a dog in Crasswell Street, Portsmouth.

Between 1.30pm and 1.40pm on Thursday, October 29, a 6-year-old boy was walking with his mother when a Staffordshire Bull Terrier jumped up at him and bit his face.

The boy was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital.

PC Mark Walsh, said: “The young boy has been left with serious facial injuries that will require reconstructive surgery. 

“The dog has been located and this incident is currently under investigation, and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened to contact police as soon as possible. This incident was very shocking and it is vital we gather all available information.”
