Detectives in Southampton are investigating a particularly unusual incident where a 13-year-old boy told police he was abducted in a car, driven around at high speed and then dumped out of the vehicle and chased on foot.

The boy was walking home from Woodlands Community College at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, February 10, when as he approached Chilcomb Road he saw a dark coloured car drive towards him. The driver got out and started to shout at the boy.

He then grabbed him and pulled him into the vehicle. He was driven around nearby roads at high speed before being dumped out of the car outside Harefield Junior School. The boy ran off but was chased on foot by the man for some while before he finally managed to lose him and report the incident at Bitterne Police Station.

The whole incident is said to have lasted about three hours. He has told police he has no idea why the man took him or chased him.

The man is described as: White, short dark hair, stubble in his mid 20s, slim build, blue polo shirt, dark blue jeans and white trainers.

The car was dark in colour possibly a black Mercedes and had leather seats.

Police are now asking for anyone who may have seen the car speeding around or acting suspiciously in the area to get in touch with them.

They are also interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the boy being chased in the area anytime between around 3.50pm and around 7.30pm. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Vivienne Wilson at Bitterne CID on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
