Police appeal after arson attack in North Baddesley

Press Releases

Published: 13/08/2009

Police are appealing for information after a series of small fires were set along one road in North Baddesley in the early hours of Wednesday, August 12.

Between 4.30am and 5.30am, police were alerted by Hampshire Fire and Rescue after the fires were discovered in Rownhams Lane.

A part of the hedgerow had been set alight, along with a red post box and a Land Rover car.

The fires were all put out quickly.

PC Holly Keyser said, “Thankfully these fires were all dealt with quickly, however there was clearly potential for more serious damage to have been caused. We would like to hear from anyone who knows how or by whom these fires were started, and we are also advising people who may have used the post box on Tuesday, August 11 to check if their mail arrived safely.

“The fire and water used to stop the fire caused some damage to the post box itself, and likely to some of the post inside as well. This kind of activity is reckless and highly dangerous, and will not be tolerated.”

Can you help?
