Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted at The Tap public house in London Road, Portsmouth, leaving him seriously injured.
Between 10pm and 10.35pm on Saturday, February 27, a man was assaulted during an altercation inside the pub, and he was then assaulted again outside, a short time later.
The offender was a man who was with two women and another man. The group walked away after the second assault.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Queen Alexandra hospital for treatment to a cut to his head. It has since been confirmed that the man also sustained a fractured skull as a result of the attack, and he is currently still in hospital.
The offender is described as:
- White
- Aged in his late 30s
- Around 6ft or taller
- Short fair hair
One of the women the offender was with is described as:
- White
- Slim build
- Aged in her late 20s or early 30s
- Straight fair hair
- Wearing dark coloured clothing
Detective Constable Kristy O’Brien said, “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened. Were you in The Tap, or in London Road around the time of the incident? Perhaps you saw the group after they had left the pub, or you can help identify the offender? If you have any information, please contact the police.”
