Police appeal after 14 year old boy robbed in Southampton

Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a 14 year old boy was robbed while walking home. 

The incident occurred in Pembroke Road, Southampton at approximately 8.15pm on Saturday, April 9.   The boy was walking along Pembroke Road from the direction of North East Road when he was suddenly surrounded by a group of youths who demanded he hand over his mobile phone.  

He ignored them and continued walking but was tripped by one of the group causing him to fall to the ground resulting in him grazing his knuckles. 

While on the ground, a second youth held him down while the first youth searched through his pockets, removing his black Blackberry Curve mobile phone which was in a black plastic case.  

The group then ran off.  

He described his two attackers as:  
Youth one:
·           Black
·           6 ft tall
·           Stocky build 
·           Aged 16 – 17 years old.
·           He was wearing a red jacket with a hood that was up.

Youth two:
·           Mixed race
·           Aged about 15 years old
·           Slim build with broad upper body
·           He was wearing a yellow jacket with a hood that was up.  

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw these youths in the area immediately before or after the incident or who may have witnessed it take place.  Officers are also asking residents in the area who have private CCTV cameras to contact them.
