Phoenix 4: Three men charged with supplying drugs in Southampton

Three men arrested yesterday as part of the latest phase of Southampton’s anti-drugs initiative Operation Phoenix have been charged.

Yesterday, Tuesday August 12, police raided four homes in the city, one in St Mary’s and three in Weston.

The three men were arrested during the raids.

Michael Neil Webb, aged 41, from White Star Place, St Mary's has now been charged with one count of supplying crack cocaine and one count of supplying heroin.

Peter John Fox , aged 21, from Fullerton Close, Weston is charged with one count of supplying crack cocaine and two counts of supplying heroin.

Gary Wyeth, aged 33, from Kingsclere Avenue, Weston is charged with one count of supplying crack cocaine and two counts of supplying heroin. T

hey are all due before Southampton Magistrates Court this morning.

Phoenix 4 is a pro-active intelligence based investigation targeting the suppliers of class A controlled drugs within Southampton. This latest phase of the investigation has been running since January 2008.

Since the arrest stage began, at the end of July, six people have been charged with supplying drugs in the city. 

Phoenix facts:

 1) Southampton’s Operation Phoenix now forms part of the force wide Operation Spartan which aims to stop transient drug dealers coming into Hampshire to sell drugs.

2) Since Operation Phoenix began in October 2005 there have been more than 113 people arrested, most of whom have been charged.

3) There is a website dedicated to Operation Phoenixwww.operationphoenix.co.uk where people can find out more about the operation and report information about drug dealers anonymously if they wish to the police.
