Phoenix 4 Four people charged following Operation Phoenix drugs raids in Southampton

Police have charged four people arrested following yesterday’s drugs raids (Tuesday, September 23) at two addresses in Southampton.

Officers led by the Priority Crime Unit in Southampton executed warrants in Hinkler Road, Thornhill and Arthur Road, Shirley and recovered a significant amount of what’s believed to be class ‘A’ drugs which had been made ready to supply to drug users.

It’s part of the forth major phase of Operation Phoenix, an intelligence led investigation to combat Class ‘A’ drug supply within Southampton.

Five people were arrested in connection with the raids. Four have now been charged. They are:

Dean Domenico Masters, 33, from Hinkler Road, Bitterne. He is charged with one count of supply of heroin and one count of supply of crack cocaine.

Keith Boyne Rannochan, 31, from Kathleen Road. He is charged with possession of heroin with Intent to supply.

Benjamin Andrew McEwen, 23, from Burgoyne Road. He is charged with possession of heroin with intent to supply.

They are all due before Southampton Magistrates Court today, Wednesday, September 24.

Derek Leroy Douglas, 27, previously from Southampton is charged with two counts of supplying Heroin. He will attend Southampton Magistrates Court on the October 7, 2008.

The fifth man arrested has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
