Police are keen to trace the occupants of a vehicle who may have witnessed a fatal road traffic collision in Southampton last week.
At around 9pm on Monday, January 18, Richard Ansty, 69, was in collision with a silver Peugeot 206 while he was walking along The Avenue.
He died as a result of his injuries.
The driver, an 18-year-old Southampton man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and bailed until April 20.
Sergeant Rob Heard from the Eastleigh Road Death Investigation team (RDIT), said: “Shortly after the collision a small, dark-coloured hatchback style vehicle drove past the scene.
“It appears it pulled out of Bannister Road and onto The Avenue before driving into the car park of the Elizabeth House Hotel.
“I’m hoping whoever was in the vehicle may be able to help the investigation as witnesses and would urge them contact me as soon as possible.”
