Operation Triangle – Man seriously injured after crash in Portsmouth
Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Portsmouth.
At about 11.15pm on Monday, July 26, there was a crash involving a Hyundai car and a pedestrian in Anglesea Road, Portsmouth.
The car was travelling south along Alfred Road and was joining Anglesea Road when the collision happened.
The pedestrian, a 24-year-old Royal Marine temporarily based at HMS Nelson, suffered a fractured skull and spine.
He was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. He has since been transferred to Southampton General Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man from Havant was not injured. The road was closed for two hours on Monday, to allow officers to conduct a full investigation.
