Operation Triad – Police charge man following the death of two people in Isle of Wight crash
Police investigating a fatal car crash on the Isle of Wight in which two people died, have today charged a man. (Aug 16)
The incident happened on Military Road at Chale just before 1pm on Sunday, January 24.
A Volkswagen Polo was in collision with a Suzuki motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
The front-seat passenger in the Polo, 23-year-old Emily Buley, died on arrival at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Andrew Newnham, died later at Southampton General Hospital. John Hoath, of Camp Road, Freshwater, has been charged with two counts of causing death by careless driving.
The 24-year-old is due to appear at Newport Magistrates Court on August 27.
