Operation Tamin - Police appeal following fatal collision in Basingstoke

Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Basingstoke in which a man received fatal injuries.

The collision happened shortly after 7pm on Saturday (Dec 4) and involved one vehicle, a blue Lexus IS 250 driven by Ian Terry.

Mr Terry, 42, of Black Dam, Basingstoke, was travelling west of Farleigh Road between Cliddesden and the A339 at Basingstoke when he lost control on a right-hand bend and struck a tree.

He sustained serious head and neck injuries and was was taken to North Hampshire Hospital.

Mr Terry was later transferred to the neurological unit at Southampton General Hospital where he died in the early hours of this morning. (Dec 7)

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicle prior to it, to contact Sgt Shaun Hopkins of Farnborough Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Tamin.
