Police investigating a road traffic collision in Gosport in which two women were seriously injured have charged a man.
Matt Styler, 35, of Keith Close, Gosport, is accused of perverting the course of justice, two counts of grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, driving above the alcohol limit and failing to stop.
He has been bailed to appear at Fareham Magistrates Court on December 7 at 9.30am.
At around 11.15pm on Saturday, July 2, two women crossing Stoke Road were struck by a blue Vauxhall Astra.
One of the women, a 20-year-old from Fareham, suffered what were initially said to be life threatening injuries, the other, a 19-year-old from Gosport, suffered serious injuries. They are still recovering.
A 31-year-old woman from Gosport, who was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of the collision, was released with no further action.
